Last week, Klein Marine Systems officially opened the doors to our new state-of-the-art facility in beautiful Newburyport, Massachusetts—and what a celebration it was!
After months of planning, coordination, and hard work, we were proud to welcome friends old and new—industry colleagues, customers, vendors, distributors, leaders from our parent and sister companies, local dignitaries, and Klein team members and families—to see the space and meet the people behind the brand.
The most asked question of the evening?
Why the move from Salem, NH to Newburyport, MA?
The answer is simple: Klein made a strategic move for long-term growth and innovation. Newburyport checked every box:
• Access to top-tier engineering and tech talent
• Coastal location with deep maritime roots
• Commuter rail convenience for team and visitors
• A vibrant, historic seaport community
• Proximity to key academic institutions like UNH and MIT
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special—including Atle Lohrmann (President, General Oceans), our founder Marty Klein, the Newburyport Chamber of Commerce, Newburyport Mayor Sean Reardon, State Representative Dawne Shand, and of course, our incredible Klein team.
We’re thrilled to join the Newburyport community—and even more excited for what’s ahead.
